Direction. Guidance and doctrine. How do you trust who points the way? Who to ignore. An ideal, oral ritual passed in voice. A gesture. A helping hand, with a snake lurking in the sleeve. Trusting blindly, we become lambs to slaughter.

When walking, signs can be everywhere. From decaying roadkill - warning of the inevitability and fragility of life. To a burning bush - a message from a higher power. Cognition is great isn’t it? Minds see outside of reality. Building upon image. Making image. Creating culture. Legacy. It is int his struggle, that relativity is born. Understanding beyond the sense. Connection. Community. Audience. Where is yours?

“From the great abyss we come into its chasms we return gracefully.”

Bespoke esoteric iconographic symbol for new project by Theo Matthaios (Breath After Coma).

With the aim for unification, focusses on archetypal carvings, the depth of abyss symbolising the absolute chaos of human existence.

The name itself stemming from an ancient Greek phrase for "of great abyss”, “of great chasm”, chaotically deep and was usually utilised to describe the deep seas.

“I wonder though. All the weight of my life resides in the material. Where will they go? Who will keep them safe? Did you know they’re imbued with my very soul?! Splintered. Divided. Sectioned-out, but not equally. I wonder: do the objects frequently tied to me hold more? Is there a measurement for that?

Will the Direct Debits stack tall for the dead? Or do they get wiped clean?

Am I an expensive dead person?

Is it cheaper to be dead?

All the things left unsaid. All the “we’ll do that tomorrow”’s echo in my absence. All the platform boots; dust-laden, like gloves from a former battle. They’ll probably age more without my use.

And what will people say? Post? Tweet? What image will they select to brandish me as their friend, family, loved one?

If only I could prescribe this and make it easier for them.

Are there dead person brand guidelines?”

Divided and decrepit. Age grinds down the form you see. Smoothness dissolves into a dry heap of waste product. By-products dissipate the nearby. Bone is born under flesh. Underneath. Stable. Defiant in Death as the last reminder.
